Agenda Take A Minute Blog  Corrections Readers/Writers Workshop Week 12: Quiz Book Projects HW: Three Day Weekend! Quote: "Nothing in the Golden Rule states that others will treat us as we have treated them. It only says that we must treat others in a way we want to be treated." Questions: How challenging is it to follow the Golden Rule?  Lines: "Let's Revive the Golden Rule," a TED Talk by Karen Armstrong.   We got into class. We sat down and took our agendas. After, Ms. Nakada told to do our essay prompts for literature circles books.  We did the quiz for week 12, and then after we finished, we packed up to go to sixth period.

We then, discussed our generation's biggest problem with global warming and talked about solutions such as dissolving stereotypes, youth value, and compression. After that, we talked about the literature circle prompts. We discussed the prompts and chose the ones we wanted to do. We then, got started on our summarys. After that,

 AGENDA Take a minute Blog/ Corrections Collect trip slips Week 12: G,Q,Q,L Reader's workshop HW: iReady 20 lessons  RJ 12.2  I.R.P Books We came into class after lunch and Ms.Nakada told the students that were absent on Monday their new seats. We all sat down and took out our Binder Reminder's. After we were done writing our Binder Reminder's we took out our English notebooks and finished writing our G,Q,Q,L.   Agenda  Take a min Blog corrections Week 11: G:Q:Q:L Book Project gallery walk  Readers workshop HW: iReady 18 lessons  RJ 11.3 read IRP book! First thing we did was get inside. Then, Sammy read his blog and did blog corrections. After that, Sammy picked Chelsea and I for the blog and then we did lines for G:Q:Q:L. Then, we did the book bracket for most of the class period. After, Ms. Nakada handed out the book reports while everyone else finished the book bracket. The last thing we did was pack up and then, Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

 Agenda Take a minute  blog corrections  week 11: G.Q.Q.L I.R.P / reader's workshop  HW Iready 18 Lessons RJ 11.2 read IRP book!   First, we got in our seats and took out the binder reminder to write the agenda. Then, Ms Nakada put the take a minute video and we listened to it while finishing the agenda. Then, Elijah read his blog and when he finished he did a wheel and it picked me. I asked Mariajose if she wanted to do it with me, and she said yes. Then, we got our books out and did the week 11 question which was "Is it harder to lift up or to punch down?" The whole class discussed it and then we wrote down the answer. Then, we got our computers out and did iReady for the rest of the period. When the bell rang, we waited for Ms. Nakada to dismiss us to our next class.

Agenda take a minute blog/ corrections week 11: g;q;q;l I.R.P / readers workshop. Hw iReady 18 lessons RJ 11.1 Read I.R.P book! We walked into class and sat down and got started. Anabell read her blog and then picked me. I was very angry. I got the computer and got to writing. We are writing our G:Q:Q:L. We started talking about how we went on strike in sixth grade, and how people are going on strike right now. Ms. Nakada then had a question for us: "What is this Irish American union activist is saying?" We then went to talk about what it means. We went in our books and talked about pg 5 our independent Reading Plan. I didn't have the page, so I had to redo it. Then, the people who were done did iready for the rest of the class. After the bell rang, we left.

After the take a minute video, Zoe and Jasel read their blog. Then, we started doing the Book Bracket survey.  Finally, we took the week 10 quiz.

Then, Ms. Nakada gave us the rest of the class period to catch up on missing work. We spent the whole class finishing missing work. Then, we packed up to go to sixth period, and Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

 Agenda  Take a min Blog/corrections  Week 10 G.Q.Q,S  Research presentation  HW 16 Iready lessons  First, we took out our binder reminders and wrote down the agenda while listening to the take a minute video. After, Ms. Nakada played this weeks song called "The Man" by Taylor Swift. We discussed the video and how most of the insults used on men are usually against women. When the discussion ended, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our essays and finish presenting to our partners. After, we moved onto Ms. Nakada gave us the option to do iReady or start our book projects. Nakada told us to get packed up, then the bell rang, and we left to our sixth period.

 Agenda Take a min blog corrections Week 10: G,Q,QS HW 16 iReady lessons  RJ 10.2 IRP title Book Project Due March 19! First, Mariajose choose me for the blog. Then after that, we started working on the question, which was "What does gender equality look like in schools?" We discussed that fitness testing can be a gender equality, playing sports like rugby, participation/interruption, and even dress code can all be part of gender equality. After that, we worked on the research presentations. After that Ms.Nakada told us to go back to our seats, we packed up, and left.

After, the take a minute fabi read her blog and picked me. Ms. Nakada told us to take out our notebooks and we started doing the grammar and quote from the week 10 G,Q,Q,S. When we were done with that we did the literature circle evaluation. After, that we looked at Ms. Nakada slide show and got partners to show each other our presentation. Finally, the bell rang and we went to our 6th period.

 AGENDA  Take a minute Blog Corrections Last lit. circle! Week 9 Quiz Research project Homework: Enjoy each moment of your weekend! We came into class after lunch and we sat down. We took our Binder Reminders out and wrote the agenda down. Levi read his blog and chose me. Ms.Nakada did the corrections for his blog and summit it. Ms. Nakada told us we could get into our last lit. circles. We read for 10 minutes and did the prediction, clarifying, question, answer, and summary. We went back to our seats, and Ms. Nakada open the week 9 quiz so we could take it. We finished taking the quiz and started working on our research project. Ms. Nakada showed us a little bit of her project and told us everything we should have in it. We turned in our research paper and projects. Ms. Nakada told us we could pack up, and dismissed for sixth period.

Ee listened to the take a minute video. So after the video, Nadja read his blog, and he picked me to do the blog So after the blog corrections, Ms. Nakada talked about Bibliography and Works Cited and that we need: last name, first. Title. Publication city and the Publisher. year Published. Then we go into our lit circles group and after we go back to our set and did research on Black writers. We packed up and Ms. Nakada let us go for next period.

 Agenda: Take a minute Blog corrections Week 9: Grammar, Quote, Question, Lines Lit. Circles Research HW: RJ 9.3 Lit. Cir. Books iReady 15 Lessons! First, we walk into class and sit down in our respective seats and take out our materials. We write down the agenda in our binder reminders and take a minute. This week's take a minute is about focusing on one thing, taking a break from multitasking. Then, we move on to today's blog corrections. Our blog this day was written, and read, by the one and only Ms. Nakada!! She chooses me to do the blog after a, quite loud, exclamation about me and a fellow classmate, Lanaja's, personal blog. Once we finish the daily humiliation ritual, though I doubt it's severe enough for that title, we move on to our week nine lines. This week's lines are a poem titled "It's Not Your Job" by Caitlyn Siehl, which we discuss after reading. "It's Not Your Job" is about letting your children choose who they want to ...

Agenda Take a minute blog corrections week 9:G.Q.Q.L Lit circles research HW: RJ 9.2 15 iReady lessons My fifth period came in after lunch and settled in to take a minute. Then, Dani read her blog, and for some reason, she chose me. So, here I am, writing the blog.  After taking a minute, we took out our English notebooks to write down the question of the week: How does media reinforce/challenge gender norms? We talked about the ways colors, toys, clothes and behaviors are all gendered. Students mentioned The Barbie Movie, The Simpsons, Disney, and Ru Paul's Drag race as shows that both reinforce and challenge gender stereotypes.  We then moved into literature circles and students made predictions, read, clarified, questioned, answered and summarized their books.  That was it for today. Students packed up and made their way to sixth period.

 Agenda:  Blog ~ Corrections Week 9: Grammar, Quote, Question, Line Research Refresh Lit Circles First, we wrote down the agenda while listening to the "Take A Minute" video. The blog was read out, and we got started on this week's grammar, quote, question, and line.   Grammar: Figurative language  Quote: "We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back." - Malala Yousafzai  We then started working on our research. We packed up and left.

The class pulled out their Binder Reminders and wrote down the agenda. Sebastian read his blog, and we all started our Literature Circles. The class then began our Week Eight Quiz. The class finished our quizzes, and we ended off the class by packing up. Lebron Quote   "Don't be afraid of failure," "Nothing is given.
