My fifth period came in after lunch and settled in to take a minute. Then, Dani read her blog, and for some reason, she chose me. So, here I am, writing the blog. 

After taking a minute, we took out our English notebooks to write down the question of the week:

How does media reinforce/challenge gender norms?

We talked about the ways colors, toys, clothes and behaviors are all gendered. Students mentioned The Barbie Movie, The Simpsons, Disney, and Ru Paul's Drag race as shows that both reinforce and challenge gender stereotypes. 




We then moved into literature circles and students made predictions, read, clarified, questioned, answered and summarized their books. 

That was it for today. Students packed up and made their way to sixth period.

Agenda  Take a minute Blog corrections Week:20 GQQSL Last letters First we sat down and took out our Binder Reminder while taking a minute. Then, Emerson and Kevin read the blog. After that, we took out our note books and we finished our week 20-22: Grammar, Quote, Question, Song, Lines. Then, we started writing letters to our future self, called last letter. After, we got the envelope. Then, we packed up and then, Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

Agenda  Take a minute  blog corrections  week: 20 G.Q.Q.Q.S.L HW: complete IRplan for the summer  First we came into class, we then sat down at our desks and started to get comfortable. Then, we started to work on our Grammar. We then worked on our Quote for this week. The quote is ¨I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.¨ Maya Angelou. We finished and moved on to our ten year plans. Finally, we packed up and left.
