iReady 15 Lessons!


First, we walk into class and sit down in our respective seats and take out our materials. We write down the agenda in our binder reminders and take a minute. This week's take a minute is about focusing on one thing, taking a break from multitasking. Then, we move on to today's blog corrections. Our blog this day was written, and read, by the one and only Ms. Nakada!! She chooses me to do the blog after a, quite loud, exclamation about me and a fellow classmate, Lanaja's, personal blog.

Once we finish the daily humiliation ritual, though I doubt it's severe enough for that title, we move on to our week nine lines. This week's lines are a poem titled "It's Not Your Job" by Caitlyn Siehl, which we discuss after reading. "It's Not Your Job" is about letting your children choose who they want to be and not pushing them into the gender norms, or not forcing them to give into the male gaze.

Once we finish our discussion about "It's Not Your Job," we get into our literature circle groups. Our literature circles are shorter than usual today because Ms. Nakada wants us to have time to research our author for the black author research project we've been assigned. After our literature circles, we dive straight into researching our black author of choice. My author is Zora Neale Hurtson, author of Their Eyes Were Watching God.

The bell rings, we pack up, I hastily finish this blog, and we leave for sixth period.

After that, we took out our note books and we finished our week 20-22: Grammar, Quote, Question, Song, Lines. Then, we started writing letters to our future self, called last letter. After, we got the envelope. Then, we packed up and then, Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

Agenda  Take a minute  blog corrections  week: 20 G.Q.Q.Q.S.L HW: complete IRplan for the summer  First we came into class, we then sat down at our desks and started to get comfortable. Then, we started to work on our Grammar. We then worked on our Quote for this week. We finished and moved on to our ten year plans. Finally, we packed up and left.
