Kevin's Third Blog

 Agenda:  Take a minute blog corrections, I.O.&B.A. Quick Write. Hw: Happy Weekend After Sam has read his third blog, we then took out our chromebooks and started to work on our quick writes. Some people that finished early worked on their I-ready. Then, before our period ends, everyone packs up their things and leaves to go to their next period.

Agenda: Take a minute blog corrections lit circles  week 4:G Q Q L I.O. and B.A. Quick write  Hw RJ 4.4 read lit circle pages  iready  6 Lessons 2 1/2 hours for the semester.  Eighth grade dues! First, we took out the binder reminder and wrote the agenda. Then, we got our notebooks and wrote the lit circles. Then,  the whole class got up and went to the lit circles.  After, we all went back to our seats and went to our week 4 quick write. Then, we all backed up and went to our last class.

We got into the class settled in and I was suppose to read the blog but I don't know what happened it disappeared. Ms. Nakada told me to do it again, so I went to do it again. After that, we went through today's lines we talked about it for a long time. Then, we finished Ms. Nakada said we are doing literature circles. We finished reading, and then we asked questions and summarized. After we finished, we packed up and left.

Agenda Take a minute  Blog Corrections  Literature Circles Week 4: G-Q-Q-L I.O.&.B.A. HW: RJ 4.1  Read Lit. Circle Pages iReady 6 Lessons - 2 1/2 Hours for the semester. We got into class took out our binders reminders and wrote down our agenda. Then, Ms. Nakada first talked about Literature Circles. She gave us lists of books we each get to choose from. We broke into groups for the Literature Circles. We then moved onto writing our week 4 grammar, question, quote, and lines.  Grammar: character, characterization, character traits Quote: "Because being American is more than a pride we inherit-- it's a past we step into and how we inherit." Amanda Gorman The period ended and we left to our next class.

  AGENDA Take a minute blog corrections reader's workshop/ Lit. circles RJ BR Week 3 quiz HW  WEEKEND!   First, we came into class watching a video. After, Ms. Nakada called Nico up to read his blog. He read it and picked me. After Ms.Nakada came to check our rj and br. Then, we did 3.3 of I nside Out and Back Again.  We looked at the book and read about what happened in the book. Then, we wrote down everything we read onto our RJ . After, we did our week 3 quiz.

  Agenda take a minute blog corrections Week 3: G.Q.Q.S.L Readers workshop Eighth Grade Dues HW RJ Inside Out and Back Again   P235-260 First, Ms. Nakada had us open our English notebooks and look at the Line "No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark" by Warsan Shire. We listened to the poem "Home" about leaving where you're from because of war or other tragedies to go somewhere safer for you and how terrifying it can be. They sometimes get mistreated and discriminated upon. Then, we opened Inside Out and Back Again  and talked about how Ha used her words instead of her fists. Then, we read about Ha and how her brother Vu planned to get her out of the fight which doesn't work at first, but works out in the end.

 Agenda  Take a minute  Blog corrections Week 3: G.Q.Q.S.L Readers workshop Homework Reader's journal 3.2 Inside Out & Back Again Page. 213-234 First, we watched the take a minute video and wrote down our agendas. Second, we listened to the song "Immigrants, We Get The Job Done." That was related to the line from the Hamilton musical and discussed what the song was about. Then, we talked about the lines from the song "Peter Piper claimed to pick them, but underpaid Pablo" and "America's ghostwriters." The credit's only borrowed." After that, we read Inside Out & Back Again  and filled out our reading journals. Finally, we packed up, and Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

Then, Ms. Nakada checked our reading journals. We started reading the book Inside Out & Back Again . We learned about things Ha is missing like home. Then, we went to our other class.

Today, we went over what we read in Inside Out and Back Again . We drew what happened in the book. We read the pages we have to do for homework. After, we looked at the song, and lines that were up on the wall. We listened to the song "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. We write about what the song is about and our favorite lyrics. After, we take the week 1 quiz. When we are done, we pack up and leave.

Ralph Waldo Emerson Question: What are you excited/nervous for in 2025? And lastly we started reading a new book called Inside Out & Back Again from pages 1-36.
