Period 5 Blog

Agenda: Take a minute/Blog/Corrections creatober completion, nano prep, and essay intro's First Ms. Nakada was collecting our creatobers. Next, we took our chromebooks out and started working on our essays. Then, after we finished our essays, we started doing the novel. Last we packed up our stuff and left class.

 AGENDA Take a minute/blog/corrections Createober day 29 Week 12: Q, Q Essay Prep  Gavin read the blog and then we worked on our createobers. Then we did week 12 question and quote. Quote: "This is your novel and only you know how to write it." Roxane Gay Question: What do you want more than anything else? Lastly we started on our essay basics.

  AGENDA take a minute blog corrections  Creatober Day 28  Week 12: G-Q-Q-L T.O. Quick Write; Conclusions HW RJ 12.1 iReady (45 min) or I.R.P. for 20-30 min We took out are agendas and wrote down what were doing today. We took a few minutes to do Creatober 28. We began are Week 12 Grammar, Quote, question, lines. Then we did Element of Plot for The Outsiders . We took out our Chromebooks to the the Quick Write on Conclusions. Then, we packed up and were dismissed. 

 Agenda: Take a minute Blog Corrections create 'Ober Day 25 Week 11: Lines/RJ  ✓ T.O Prompts Week 11: Quiz HW: Book Projects Due Wednesday! Ms. Nakada graded our Reading Journal then, we started our Week 11 Quiz. After, we got a paper from the blue folder called "The Poverty Myth" and took a minute to read it with our partners then, we discussed it.  Once we finished discussing it, we had the rest of the class to work on Book Projects and iReady. Then, the bell rang, and we packed up and moved on to sixth period.

Agenda  Take a min-Blog-Corrections Create-ober Day 23 Week 11: lines  THE OUTSIDERS HW RJ 11.3 iReady (45min) + IRP (20 to 30 min) We started off class by taking out our Binder Reminders and writing down the agenda and homework. We then Watched  THE OUTSIDERS movie on the TV. We paused to discuss chapter nine. Then, we started back up the movie. We finished the movie, packed up our things and left.

 First we did our agenda: take a min, blog, corrections create-ober Day 22 Week 11: Song The Outsiders Then, we took out our writers workshop, and did our song for the week: "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman. We then discussed about the song it was decent omm. We did our reading journals for week 9, Finish T.O. , iReady, or another book you've been reading. Our final classwork is Book vs. Movie. We packed up and went to 6th period.

 Agenda Take a minute blog correction create-ober Day 21 week 11: G.Q.Q.S.L  The Outsiders  HW RJ 11.1 iready (45 min)  IRP (20-30)   Book Project Due OCT. 30 First we took a minute to write the agenda. Then we wrote in our reading notes. We went to page 18 and started writing our G.Q.Q. . After that we went to our outsiders notes. Then we started reading the book and writing in out notes. After that we watched the movie. Then we packed up and went to 6th period. 

Agenda Take a minute blog corrections   Create-ober Day 18   Week 10 Quiz  Reader's/ writer's workshop HW: Catch up on all the reading/creating The first thing we did when we got inside, was sit down and write in our agenda. Then, Martin read his second blog. After that, we did our week 10 quiz. Then, we watched The Outsiders.  After that, we packed up, and Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

Agenda Take a minute blog corrections create ober day 17 reader's/writer's workshop. HW SLC tonight 5-7 get letters signed! Question: Is it offensive to use native Americans as team mascots? We discussed the question. We wrote about what we think it meant. Song: "Hawaii ' 78" by Israel "12"  Kamakawiwo'ole We listened to it, and we discussed it. Then, we wrote about what we think it means, and we wrote our favorite lyric. Then, Ms. Nakada gave us some time to continue our letter for Student Led Conference. We finished, and we packed up and left.

 Blog corrections. Creatober/Reader's Workshop  Day 16 HW RJ 10 3 Finish T.O. iReady or I.R.P  First, we come inside of the classroom. We took out our agendas. Matthew read his first blog. Then, he chose me to do the blog. Ms. Nakada asked some students to pass some papers. We wrote the Letter Fall Student Led Conferencing. Then, we packed up, and Ms. Nakada dismissed us. 

 Agenda  Take a minute  Blog corrections Create ober Day 15 HW RJ 10.2 Finish T.O or iReady or I.R.P book. We enter class, and we sat down and took out our agenda. After we finish our agenda, we do our create ober. Then, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our RJ. Next, we did a School Trip essay prompts. When the bell rang, Ms. Nakada told us to make sure there was nothing on the floor, and then dismissed us.

Agenda  Take a minute/blog/corrections Create-ober Day 14/ check-RJ week 10 GQQL Quick write # 3/SLC letters  Homework RJ 10.1 Finish The Outsiders or I-ready or IRP book  We started off the class by being assigned new seats. Then, we took out our Binder Reminders and wrote the agenda and homework in them. After that, we all took out our Creatober projects for Ms. Nakada to grade. We then pulled out our English notebooks and got to work. We talked about POV for grammar. We discussed the indigenous people of America and talked about our quote, "It does not require many words to speak the truth." by Chief Joseph. After that, we looked at our prompt for the quick write #3. Then, we packed up our things and left.

 AGENDA Take a minute, blog, corrections  Create-ober  Day 9 The Outsiders School Trip Prompts   HW: RJ 9.3 T.O   Ch.12 First, the class did day 9 of create-ober. Next, the class took out their notes for T he Outsiders, also talking about chapters 5-6. After that, the class watched chapter 5 and 6 of The Outsiders mov ie. Finally we about finished the chapter in the movie, then we packed up, and left.

AGENDA blog - corrections Create-ober Week 8: Song reader's workshop HW: RJ 9.2 T.O. chapters 10/11 We start off the class by taking a minute and writing the agenda in our binder reminders. Ms. Nakada then read Luis' blog and we made corrections to it. We then do our Createober Day 8 drawings.  Then, we listened to our song for the week titled, "Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts" by Gaslight Anthem.  After listening to the song, we wrote down what we thought the song was about, what the tone was, what the themes were, what era it was set in, and how it relates to The Outsiders . Lastly, we write down our notes about chapter 5 of  The Outsiders  by S.E Hinton.

Agenda Take a minute blog corrections  week 9 G Q Q S  Reader's workshop  HW: RJ 9.1 T.O ch 9  First, we entered class, wrote down our agendas, and then did our Creatobers. Then, we read The Outsiders , and after we wrote in our notebooks about chapter 5. After that, we did our G Q Q S (Grammar, Quote, Question, Song).  adjectives: describes a noun. (good) adverbs: describe verbs. (well) Quote: Experience is not what happens to you; it's what you do with what happens to you." Aldous Huxley Question: How should parents handle a bad report card/behavior? Song: "Blue Jeans and White T-shirts" The Gaslight Anthem. Then, we packed up and got dismissed. 

 Agenda: Take a minute Blog/Corrections  Create-ober Day 4/RJ/BR The Outsiders Week 8 Quiz HW: Enjoy your weekend!  First we got into the class and we took a seat. Jessell read her blog and then she chose me to do the next one. We took our Binder Reminders out and Ms. Nakada walked around the class room to checked them, she showed us the Reading Journal for week 8, then she walked around to grade them. Ms. Nakada played the movie for chapter 4, then we took our The Outsiders books out and listened to chapter 5. We took our Chromebooks out and we took Week 8 Quiz, then we packed up and went to our 6th period.
