AGENDA    take a minute blog corrections Week 16: GQQSL NaPoWriMo Day 28 HW: Read and write a poem a day 28 Iready Lessons We first sat down and wrote down the agenda in our binder reminders. Emerson read his blog and then chose me to do the blog. Ms. Nakada told us to take out our english notebooks so we could do the grammar, quote, question, song and lines of the week. We spoke about the CAT testing for this week, and about high school. After having a very useful yap-session about high school classes, we took more notes about the CAT test, then moved on to the quote which was by Audrey Lorde, stating "Poetry is not a luxury, it a vital necessity to our existence." We then wrote poems for 2 minutes, packed up and left.

  Agenda Take a minute blog corrections week 15:Quiz NaPoWriMo Day 25 Hw  Read and Write a poem a day iReady 26 lessons  Poem:''Neither Time Nor Grief is a Flat Circle''By Christina Olson  We came into class we took a minute to sit down and write down the agenda. After that, Martin read his blog and chose me. Then, Ms. Nakada read a poem. After, we took notes on the poem to understand it better. We wrote poems. When we were done we took out our computers to take a quiz. When we finished, we packed up and waited until Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

 AGENDA take a minute blog corrections week 15: G.Q.Q.L Na Po Wri Mo day 23 HW Read & write a  poem a day  iready 26 lessons We got into room 109 for the second time. We sat down and toke out our binder reminders to write the agenda down.  Levi read his blog then I got picked. After, that we read a poem called "I'm Going Back to Minnesota Where Sadness Make Sense" by Danez Smith. We talked about it and analyzed it. We wrote it down as our lines for this week. After, we wrote down our poem. We shared them. Then, we went to continue writing our poetry revision page. Then, we packed up and left.

 Agenda  take a minute  blog corrections week 13  G.Q.Q.L NaPoWriMo Day 22     HW Read and write a  poem a day iReady 26 lessons Happy Earth Day  We came into room 109 for the first time and Ms. Nakada had to send students up to the room to get some things. Everyone else came in, sat down and wrote the agenda.  Alex and Jessan read the blog and they chose Levi on the wheel.  We started with the question: What do computer adaptive tests reveal/not reveal about student learning? Then, we read the poem, "Wild Geese" by Mary Oliver. It was about being gentle with yourself, and understanding that you are part of the world.  We wrote poems and Ms. Nakada updated the chart with the poems read.

  Agenda Take a minute/blog corrections Week 15 Grammar, Quote, Question, and Line NaPoWriMo Day 21 HW Read/write a poem a day First, we got into class and watched the take a minute. Then, we started to take out our notebooks and worked on the Grammar, Quote, Question, and Line. After that, we moved on to our reading poems and started reading the poem called "There Are Birds Here" by Jamal May. Next, we started writing our poems that we write every day. There was a fire drill, so we all left for the field.

Kevin and Luis read the blog, and then we started on our lines for week fourteen. We read a poem for our reading journal and also wrote a poem. After, we worked on our open house presentations. Then, we packed up and left.

Use it." Amanda Gorman  Question: How can you develop mental toughness? Song: "King of Pain" The Police  Lines: "Poetry" Yrsa Daley Ward  First, we entered class and wrote down our agendas. Then, Zola and Dani did their blog, and picked Kevin and Luis. After, we listened to the song "King of Pain" by The Police and wrote out favorite line. Then, as Ms. Nakada read the poem of the day, " Power" by Audrey Lorde,  we filled out our reading journals. After, we wrote down our poems then packed up and left.

 Agenda Take a minute, blog, corrections Week 14: Grammar, Quote, Question, Song, and Lines. Poem Revising  HW: Read/Write a poem. Quote: ¨Do not ignore the pain. Give it purpose. Use it¨-Amanda Gorman. First, we did the take a min. After the video, Genesis read her blog. After I got chosen, we did the week 14: grammar, quote, question, and then we started reading a poem.  Question: How can you develop mental toughness.  Then, we wrote it down in our notebooks. We then started writing our own poems for NaPoWriMo. Finally, the bell rang, we got packed up and left.

Agenda Take a minute  Blog-corrections  NaPoWriMo day 7 HW: RJ 14.1 read-summarize and write a poem. iReady 24 lessons for the semester.  First, we walked in to the classroom and we took out our agenda. After, wrote the agenda Ms. Nakada gave us time to write more poems, so we could get extra credit. Then, we read a poem, and made a three word summary and the visual summary. Then, we wrote down our grammar, quote.  lyric poem: one speaker, musical, one topic meter: rhythm of a poem monologue: one speaker delivering a lengthy speech quote: "Do not ignore the pain. Give it purpose. Use it." Amanda Gorman After, Ms. Nakada passed out the portfolios. Then, we packed and left.

After that, Ms. Nakada told us to get out our composition books to glue the lines for the week, "Because You Asked About The Lines Between Prose And Poetry" by Howard Nemorov. Then, we got our reading journals out and wrote down the poem we read which was the lines. Then, we worked on our NaPoWriMo poems. After we shared a couple, then we started on the Book Bracket Round 2. Finally, we packed up.

AGENDA Take a minute  blog, corrections Week 13: G,Q,Q,L NaPoWriMo HW  RJ 13.1 Read & summarize a poem. 22 iReady Lessons First, Jesse read the blog then, Matthew picked me. Ms. Nakada had us write page 48 and 49 into our table of contents. Then, we wrote down the grammar, quote, and question.  GRAMMAR: Poetry: lines/stanza vs. Prose: sentences/paragraphs Quote: "If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry." Emily Dickinson Question: How do you feel about poetry? After writing down the question, Ms. Nakada let us share our opinion on poetry. We turned to the next page and worked on NaPoWriMo, we looked at prompts to help us with our poem. Then, we began working on our poems for a few minutes. After that, we added week 13 to our reading journals. Then, we all worked on our first poem together. After that, we packed up and left.
